I see this posted all over the place lately. It's on facebook, newsvine, emails and anywhere else people can share their opinions:
SO LET US GET THIS STRAIGHT - If you cross the North Korean border illegally, you get 12 yrs hard labor. If you cross the Afghanistan border illegally, you get shot. Two Americans got eight years for crossing the Iranian border...BUT...if you cross the U.S. Border illegally you get a job, a drivers license in some states, food stamps, a place to live, health care, housing & child benefits, education, and can't be asked for ID if you go to vote....No wonder we are a country in debt
There is such a myriad of problems with this it's hard to know where to start. I mean besides the fact that it's filled with misinformation about illegal immigrants and what they get what really bothers me is the call by all these people to start taking our cues from Iran and North Korea.
Who is lucky enough to live in America and hopes one day we can make it more like Iran and North Korea? To be honest I am proud my country has more compassion than those listed and would never make a public call to be more like theses countries.
I think this all comes back to the old adage "Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it!"
